MTV Style Gala attracts big brand sponsors

China - Jack Daniel's, Shanghai Volkswagen-Skoda and dopod have come on board as sponsors for this year's MTV Style Gala to be held at the Shanghai grand stage on 23 November.

Targeting Chinese youth in the 20 to 30 year age group, Jack Daniel's aims to associate the habit of having the Tennessee whiskey for entertainment among its customers.

"We hope that by sponsoring MTV Style Gala, it can draw more people to know our brand and bring Jack Daniel's special lifestyle, which is associated with music, to people over the world," Bona Yao, project leader, China for Jack Daniel's said.

Shanghai Volkswagen-Skoda came on board as sponsor this year too. The brand identifies with the MTV Style Gala, not just as a brand that sells cars in the China market but associated "with personal style and the most innovative techniques in the car-making industry".

Coming back as sponsor for the second year, Matthew Gene Mouw, vice president for Huiyuan Juice, said, "With the sponsorship in the MTV Style Gala, we will promote fruit juice as part of a healthy lifestyle. A fashionable lifestyle should be a healthy lifestyle."

MTV Networks China will also partner with Shanghai Media Group and CCTV6 for the annual event that recognises the style and fashion trendsetters from Greater China.

The event will be graced by celebrities from film, music, tv and fashion that will include special guest Hollywood star Paris Hilton.
