Hong Kong - Sing Tao News Corporation has launched its first online recruitment website under its free circulating Headline Daily newspaper called HeadlineJobs, to rival the market leader JobsDB.

Fanny Chan, CEO of HeadlineJobs, said the recruitment market in Hong Kong had matured and was ready for a more "intelligent" recruitment platform.

"I think at this time they [JobsDB] need a competitor, the online job market has matured," she said.

"This is what marketers want."

The site, developed by Israel software group RedMatch, will carry some 3,200 categories and seek to better match the sites members with all advertised positions.

The site will sit under Sing Tao News Corporation, but will be affiliated with Hong Kong's largest free-circulating newspaper Headline Daily and Headline Online.

Chan said aligning the brand with the newspaper would be a strong marketing tool.
