Nielsen Online to hire new marketer after restructuring
Singapore - Nielsen Online, the new entity formed from merging Nielsen//NetRatings and Nielsen BuzzMetrics, has a new president and is also seeking a manager to handle marketing and communications in Asia.
Ex-director of marketing for Asia Pacific and Latin America Elvira Lodewick left the company early October and her old job scope is being split into two parts, according to Nielsen's VP for regional services APAC Mark Ottaway.
Ottaway said Smita Singal has been named marketing manager Pacific to be based in Sydney and he is currently looking for someone to undertake Asian responsibilities. Singal was previously with Technova India, a print manufacturer, as its head of PR.
Nielsen BuzzMetrics CEO Jonathan Carson will now head Nielsen Online as its president, international - a position created due to the merger of its Asia Pacific (APAC) and Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) businesses.
As reported in Marketing yesterday, Nielsen//NetRatings' MD Patricia Poo's recent departure to BlueFreeway will leave her position empty. Nielsen's MD for Greater China and SEA Hans Yu has been tasked to look for a replacement.
