Singapore - SPH Magazines has syndicated Condé Nast's Golf Digest and launched its Singapore edition on 24 October.
Golf Digest Singapore will, in a way, replace Inside Golf, an SPH publication which recently ceased to exist. The staff working on Inside Golf has entirely transferred to produce Golf Digest.
US-based chairman and editor-in-chief of Golf Digest Jerry Tarde said, "This new initiative is directly inline with our commitment to growing the Golf Digest brand by bringing tailored, localised content to different regions throughout the world."
The local edition will have articles specially suited for Singaporeans as well as syndicated content from associated Condé Nast publications Golf World and Golf For Women. Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, and Annika Sorenstam, will be contributing pieces to the magazine.
"Golf Digest is the most respected golf magazine around. But Golf Digest Singapore takes it one step further by incorporating local content that complements the successful and proven editorial framework of the US version," Tan Ju Kuang, editor of Golf Digest Singapore says.
Other communication methods to bring awareness to the launch include a roadshow at Vivo City to coincide with the Barclays Singapore Open. Trade advertisers and partners will be invited, and Ernie Els will participate in an exclusive forum at the event this evening.
