Singapore – Lianhe Wanbao unveiled its new look on 15 October in a bid to strengthen its existing readership while attracting a new generation of readers, providing advertisers new opportunities to reach out to a wider market.
Lianhe Wanbao's acting editor Peter Ong said in a release, "This newspaper will remain close to the pulses of the community. While it leverages on its existing strength in chasing news leads which are of interest to people, it also packages these reports into more exciting stories to appeal to the discerning readers today. The revamped product will surprise readers with its improved design and content."
With a new masthead, the daily also has a dual-cover. Featuring top news stories on the front cover and entertainment and lifestyle reports on the back cover. The layout is eye-catching with vibrant visuals, fonts, colours and infographics coupled with the use of story boards, charts, tables and side bars to package and present news in a more reader-friendly format.
Home and crime news remains its staple however entertainment coverage will be increased.
