Global - The Financial Times has beefed up its blogging community in a bid to draw and retain more visitors to its website, FT.com which in October launched a new access model and implemented the use of video on the site.

Columnists such as Tim Harford, ‘The Undercover Economist', John Gapper, chief business commentator and Clive Crook, chief Washington columnist, will all post regularly on FT.com in the coming weeks. Willem Buiter's popular ‘Maverecon' blog has also moved to FT.com.

"Business works on a global basis, 24 hours a day and we want to reflect that in our coverage and analysis at FT.com. To have Tim, John, Willem and Clive blogging around the key news, issues and giving their views in their own style can only add to the stickiness and interactions with FT.com.  The rise in blogging ensures that the reader can share and interact with many journalists and gives us the opportunity to hear what our readers think on a real-time basis too," James Montgomery, editor for FT.com said.
