Corona distribution switches hands

Carlsberg has secured exclusive distribution rights of Modelo's Corona beer brand in Singapore, a deal previously held by Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore (APBS).

Under the agreement signed with Modelo, Carsberg will have exclusive rights to distribute Modelo's Corona beer in the Singapore and Malayasia markets.

"APBS will cease to distribute Corona by the end of this year," an APBS spokesperson told Procurement magazine. The spokesperson however, clarified that the company never distributed Corona in Malaysia, contrary to media reports.

"We are very pleased and excited to work with Modelo and their Corona products which will complement Carlsberg's already established beer brand portfolio in Singapore," said Lars Stijernstrøm, general manager of Carlsberg Singapore.
