McCanns takes away KFC

Singapore - KFC has shifted its creative business from BBDO to McCann Erickson following a closed door pitch which also involved JWT.

According to senior marketing manager for KFC, Virginia Ng, the appointment was based on the strength of McCann's creative presented as well as the good support structure the agency has. This latest McCann win coincides with the recent arrivals of former BBDO creatives, Farrokh Madon and Goh Wee Kim as ECD and ACD respectively. Both have worked on the KFC account at BBDO before but Ng said past working relationships were not the focus of this pitch.

"When we look for an agency, we look for a long term partner and in our industry faces come and go - did we move the business based on them, of course not," she said.

McCanns is expected to roll out a KFC campaign in January while BBDO will continue to work with the brand in the meantime. BBDO was with KFC for the last five years.
