Singapore Post (SingPost) has appointed former NEC MD Wilson Tan Wee-Yan to take over Lau Boon Tuan as group CEO, effective 15 October.
Procurement magazine previously reported Lau's resignation in September, and the appointment of Dennis Quek as acting CEO.
Tan, 49, joins SingPost from NEC solutions Asia Pacific where he held the position of managing director. Since 1993, Tan has held key management positions with regional responsibilities in multi-national companies including Apple Computers, Informix, Software AG and Xerox Corporation.
"In the face of the increasing challenges in the postal industry, [SingPost] has shown much resilience, versatility and innovation to reverse declining mail volumes while introducing new revenue streams to grow the business," Tan said. "I certainly look forward to helping the group hone its competitiveness and to accelerate its momentum."
Tan will also join the SingPost Board as a director.
