Asia Pacific - Search giant Google has trounced its nearest rival Yahoo! in the search marketing stakes, accounting for more than 60% of the 61 billion searches conducted globally in August, according to a study into global search activity.
The report from US-based ComScore found that more than 750 million people aged 15 or over, or 95% of the world’s internet audience made searches in August, averaging out at 80 searches per user.
More than 37 billion internet searches were made with Google during the month while Yahoo! managed 37 billion.
Asia Pacific region was the largest search market, with 258 million users conducting 20.3 billion searches.
