Regional - Hewlett-Packard (HP) and MTV's global notebook PC graphics-design competition website has achieved 1.7 million page views in a month, of which 15% are from Asia Pacific.
So far, there has been 78,000 unique visits and 50% come from Asia Pacific. The competition has already seen 3,200 entries submitted, 25% of which are from this region and Malaysian and Pakistani entries account for some of the largest numbers in the world.
The global competition called ‘Take Action: make Art' asks youths to develop designs that communicate a positive thought to show to the world and was launched on 12 September 2007. The winning submission will be used in the design of a special artist edition HP Pavilion notebook PC.
"Both youth and technology share something in common - the potential and prominence as expressive forces of tomorrow. HP and MTV recognise this relationship and want to cultivate this dynamic and personal connection between the two. We are thrilled at how well the design competition is resonating amongst the Asia Pacific youth audience and the intense creativity that has resulted from this programme," Ian Stewart, SVP for Viacom Brand Solutions & MTV Networks said.
Entries can still be submitted at mtv-tama.com until 17 October and the winner will get to attend November's MTV Europe Music Awards in Munich, Germany.
