Beijing - Microsoft has introduced a COO role for Greater China Region, appointing Eugenio Beaufrand to oversee sales, marketing and the company's China expansion.
Beaufrand is 23-year veteran of Microsoft and joins the China office from Microsoft Latin America where he held the position of vice president. He has also served as head of Microsoft Australia and regional vice president for the south American markets.
The company is yet to find a replacement for Timothy Chen, who resigned as CEO of Microsoft Greater China Region in late September. Beaufrand will instead report to acting CEO Ya-Qin Zhang.
