Lexus launches the GS range

Malaysia - Lexus today officially launched the GS250 and GS350, following the global introduction in November 2011 in Los Angeles.

The Lexus GS, positioned as mid-range luxury executive sedans between the IS and LS models, is available in two engine sizes and Luxury and F-Sport versions. 

"We hope to sell 150 units by end 2012, and we expect to achieve 30% higher sales overall this year than last," says Ismet Suki, president of UMW Toyota Motor. 

"The Lexus GS is a representation of the Lexus' continuous 'Pursuit of perfection' which will certainly raise the benchmark in terms of refinement in quality, detail and style in the luxury market," Suki added. 

When asked by A+M, Mandy Phang, senior manager of brand-building and marketing at UMW Toyota Malaysia said promotions and advertising for the new Lexus GS will be focused on print and billboards.

"We're focusing more on billboards this time round because we've seen positive results from using that platform. Further, one of the locations of the billboard ads for the Lexus GS, along the LDP at Section 17, aptly targets the more affluent group living and traveling in that area," Phang adds. Print ads will be appearing in The Edge, The Star and Sin Chew. Ads for the GS range will also be appearing online and in social media. 

The new Lexus GS is priced at RM366,200 and above.
