Foreign event marketers need more venues
MICE GOVERNMENT ACTIVITIES CORPORATE EVENTS
Vietnam - Besides the need for sufficient government support to attract foreign event marketers and planners to Vietnam, another challenge in the way is the lack of venues.
Exhibition organiser Thailand Reed Tradex's managing director Chainarong Limpkittisin told Vietnam News venues that can offer facilities that meet the standards for foreign participation are limited in Vietnam.
"Over the years, Vietnam has increased in popularity as an attractive MICE destination and I believe that Vietnam's MICE industry has so much potential and should be promoted."
The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced it will be working closely with the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau to boost its MICE sector, with initiatives such as expert training programmes and an increase in venue options in the pipeline.
The two entities will be focusing on human resources development as well as cultural and economic cooperation.
