Regional - Global supplier of location and navigation products and services TomTom has appointed Proximity Shop as its agency across Asia.

The agency will be tasked with delivering a number of TotalWork projects in 2012 kicking off work with the recently-concluded IT Show in Singapore where Proximity Shop developed and executed marketing programs and campaigns to introduce consumers to the TomTom brand and its technology.

Winnie Kwan, senior marketing manager for TomTom Asia Pacific said the move allows the company to localise content, ensuring the messaging is relevant for consumers within the Asian market.

In 2010, TomTom first entered the Southeast Asian region with operations in Singapore and Malaysia. It has since extended its presence to Indonesia, China and Taiwan.

According to Jane Perry (pictured), general manager of Proximity Shop, the focus for the business over the coming 12 months will be to build the TomTom brand throughout Asia Pacific from the retail environment (or shelf-edge) out.
