MEDIACOM NEW BUSINESS CHINA UNICOM
Beijing - China Unicom has awarded Mediacom Beijing its non-tv media planning and buying account of across all its brands in China.
Media agencies for its PSTV and CCTV accounts are yet to be finalised, a spokesperson told Marketing.
According to CTR ad spend monitoring, China Unicom’s media spend exceeded more than 2 billion RMB in 2011.
Jiao Yang, managing director of Mediacom Beijing, said the win is one of its most significant additions to its client roster.
"Clients’ needs and expectations on integrated media communication have been increasing considerably, which requires strong integrated communications planning and in-depth understanding in digital.”
The account was won after pitching against Guangdong Advertising Co. and Catch Stone.
China Unicom is a mobile phone operator set up by the Chinese government in 1994 that provides long-distance, broadband data, Internet and mobile communications services.
