Bangkok Post's Boo-Boo on McCanns powershift
Singapore - Bangkok Post reported yesterday that McCann Worldgroup Thailand will be "upgraded to serve the company's SE Asia headquarters replacing Singapore", but McCann management says the publication misinterpreted the information.
According to a McCann spokesperson, the source of the misinterpretation arose from the translation of an interview where the word "hub" when changed into Thai becomes "headquarters".
"To give you a bit more detail, you have probably seen a few articles about McCann Bangkok building resources to do regional work for international clients. Most recently it was the expansion of the operations of MRM Worldwide which is McCann's digital network. This is the practical application of the word ‘hub' that has been misinterpreted," said a McCann spokesperson.
The link to the article in question has just been removed.
