National - Chinese internet group Baidu has announced plans to further widen its lead over Yahoo! and Google in China, launching an online video-advertising service called Baidu TV.

The new service officially launched on 16 of this month, but is still in a trial phase. Baidu said the new service will give advertisers access to about 160,000 domestic websites under the "Baidu Union", where advertisers can post online video ads and share advertising revenue with Chinese search giant.

The new service is the result of a partnership between Baidu and the Chinese online video advertising platform provider Ads it! Media Corporation.
