Dan McHugh has assumed the role of CEO of DHL Express in Asia Pacific, taking over Scott Price, who has since moved to head up DHL Express in Europe.

McHugh joined the Asia Pacific office in April 2005 as the senior vice president of commercial operations and was responsible for sales, marketing, pricing, market research, product development and customer service for the Express unit in Asia Pacific.

"Dan has a proven track record, both in DHL and in the logistics industry, as well as an excellent knowledge of Asia," said John Mullen, global CEO of DHL Express. "I am confident that Dan will write another important chapter in the DHL Asia Pacific success story, further consolidating our market leadership in the region."

Prior to DHL, McHugh was the executive vice president of global sales, marketing and customer support of APL, the Singapore-based ocean transportation and logistics subsidiary of Neptune Orient Lines.

He spent nine years with Sea-Land Services prior to APL, where he held several senior positions including vice president of the Americas, based in Charlotte, USA.

McHugh was appointed acting CEO of DHL Express Asia Pacific since July this year, when then CEO Scott Price was named as CEO of DHL Express in Europe.
