Hong Kong - Pixel Media has announced revenue increased of 50% to US$4.9 million (HK$38.2 million) in the first half of 2007, with profits up 32% in the same period, demonstrating Asian marketers are directing more advertising spent to the online sector.

"As Europe and the USA have experienced, Asia is witnessing the continuing migration of advertising spend from traditional mediums to online, which we are well placed to capture," Kevin Huang, CEO for Pixel, said.

Huang added that business in Hong Kong is growing rapidly with new advertisers, new websites and increased spends from current advertisers moving more budget from other media to online.

He noted that over 30% of total active advertisers in the first half of 2007 are first time advertisers including major brands such as Cartier, Crown Macau and Mercedes Benz.

Macau has also joined the bandwagon in online advertising as Huang observed more hotels for instance Crown, Venetian and Sands are "using online in a big way".

"Most importantly, advertisers in Hong Kong and China are realising that online advertising is a must and no longer an after thought," Huang said.
