Conference Bay goes guerrilla
Singapore - Conference Bay pulled a stunt at Lau Pa Sat Food centre yesterday by reserving lunch-seats the Singapore way - marking territories by placing tissue packs on the tables.
Initially crowds were puzzled at the lack of empty seats and backed off when they saw the branded tissue packs and two men in "Chair suits" with the portal's address emblazoned on the chair and heading to occupied tables. MD Frank Bomers and his colleagues soon went forward to introduce Conference Bay to the onlookers and explained the concept of the campaign and thereafter invited them to visit its website.
The patrons were generally intrigued by the episode. However it was short-lived as barely an hour into the exercise, the management of food court requested for the eager team to leave its premises.
The concept was developed by Ogilvy Redcard and executed by Fulford Public Relations.
Conference Bay is a new portal that allows online seat bidding as reported in Marketing on 5 September.
