Star looks to diversify for revenue grab

Hong Kong - News Corporation's Star Group has appointed Anthony Day to expand its broadcasting activity both locally and throughout Asia.

As executive vice president of strategy & development, Day will be charged with identifying new revenue opportunities, which may include broadening the number of channels within the Star portfolio and developing mobile media opportunities.

Day has been working with Star on a freelance basis but was formally appointed earlier this month. He will continue to be based in Hong Kong.

Paul Aiello, CEO of Star, said Day will also work with Star's regional offices to manage its portfolio of joint ventures.

"We will draw upon his experience and commercial acumen in leading his division to engineer long-term growth and success," Aiello said.

"Anthony has a wealth of experience in developing and managing growth and in working through complex transactions across a variety of industry sectors."
