Singtel forging forward in global and local media coverage
Across the board global stories figures for the month of August were low with the exception of Singapore Airlines with a total of 42 stories. Though the highest among those in the league, it was still lower than its July peak by hair's breadth at 45. Its figures are significantly higher by about two and a half times more than the next highest company mentioned - CapitalLand. The property developer has seen its fall in reportage slide the lowest it has ever been the past eight months. In terms of more story mentions, UOB and SingTel had the steepest climb after either dipping slightly or remaining relatively constant for the past quarter.
Similarly for local media, SingTel had the greatest increment by close to 166%. The other two mobile operators however did not fare as well. MobileOne was worst of the lot in this list of 17 companies, with no mentions at all in August. StarHub did slightly better with just one mention. This could be due to SingTel's recent announcement of its new demand pay TV service mio TV, which led to its lead. Next in line with regards to an increase in mentions was CDL with jump of six citations. In general, most companies saw an increase in stories but Singapore Airlines coverage dipped drastically from 12 to three mentions as with CapitaMall Trust at just two from the previous high of seven. CapitaLand's citations remained consistent at eight mentions, however this marks too the lowest consecutive reading it has gotten the past eight months.
