Cision expands into Asia as PR industry grows
The Swedish-based monitoring group, which tracks all forms of media from print, TV, radio and magazines to online news sites, blogs and forums, has appointed Jennifer Kok to head up is Hong Kong office. Cision will use Hong Kong to further its business in China and Singapore.
Niklas Flyborg, Cision president & CEO, said there is a growing need for monitoring and strategy in Hong Kong as the PR industry expands and matures.
"There is a need for this type of service in Hong Kong. PR is a boardroom issue, the demand for greater transparency and better levels of corporate governance is growing,"he said.
"We're seeing many clients move money from marketing into PR because they're seeing better results. The media is fragmenting and if you spend a buck, you want to know what did for you."
Cision, which counts the likes of Proctor & Gamble, Yahoo and Philip Morris as clients has already landed local business in Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong.
