History goes back to Hidden Cities
Regional - AETN All Asia Network's History channel has brought back Hidden Cities with brands such as Canon and Maybank as presenting sponsors and Caltex as the associate sponsor.
Having secured these sponsors, History will embark on an aggressive advertising and promotional campaign across a variety of media.
The programme hosted by Anthony Morse (pictured) goes in search of Asia's forgotten treasures such as the Jewish ghettos of Shanghai, the lost temple city of Muara Jambi in Sumatra and the Skrang River in Sarawak.
A regional contest for the programme is also in the pipelines for January 2012 where viewers outside of Singapore will be encouraged to share photographs of an interesting city that they have visited and what they enjoyed about it.
20 winners will be picked to explore Singapore with Anthony, while another 50 stand to win limited edition History Windbreakers.
Issei Morimoto, vice president, consumer imaging & information products division south & southeast Asia, Canon Singapore said: "Hidden Cities discovers the civilisations that were once buried but now documented for posterity with Canon imaging and HD video solutions. The series has also created memories of these unique places that they explore, and it is very much aligned with our philosophy of capturing one's memories perfectly."
Commenting on the banks tie up with the series Lim Hong Tat, deputy president & head, consumer financial services, Maybank said: "This partnership echoes our mission to humanise financial services as we realize the importance for society to appreciate history which in turn helps us know who we are better. As we mould the future, we must learn from past mistakes and successes as well. "
"We believe that the exposure garnered from this programme will at the same time, provide better visibility of our reach and capabilities to a diverse group of viewers."
Hidden Cities returns with eight episodes across Asia – covering Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and China.
