Hong Kong - Eurosport Asia has expanded its reach into the Asian region, launching its Eurosport and Eurosportnews in Australia and expanding its footprint in Japan in partnership with The New Media Group (TNMG).
Both channels will now be available in Australia while Eurosportnews will be available in Japan on the World on Demand IPTV platform, owned and operated by TNMG.
Gushi Sethi, distribution & sales manager for Eurosport Asia, will oversee sales for the channels, which heading into the 2008 Olympics are looking to expanding their audience base.
"With the Beijing Olympics 2008 approaching, we can see a growing demand in Asia-Pacific for a wider variety of international sports programming, and Eurosport is exactly the type of content that our user communities want," Randy McGraw, president of TNMG, said.
Eurosport Asia is currently eight in Asia including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Australia, the Philippines and Malaysia.
