Singapore represented in global Flag Project
The Flag Project had D&AD flags sent to leading players across the advertising industry, with the challenge to do ‘something - anything' with it. Over 100 photographs were submitted, and Leo Burnett Singapore's Victor Ng and Jon Loke had their submission approved to be published in the Annual. Roy Poh from Kinetic Singapore was the only other Flag Project submission from Singapore.
"We tried to select images for the Annual that gave a general overview of the work sent in, but it was almost impossible as each picture stands alone as a personal view and means of expression. They are nevertheless all part of a republic of creativity and the yellow flag is its symbol," Renzo di Renzo, CD for Fabrica said.
Selected pieces of work from the project will appear on the dividing pages of The D&AD Annual 2007, and an online exhibition will be available tomorrow at dandad.org/flag. The news marks the first time the D&AD Annual was designed outside the United Kingdom and D&AD president Tony Davidson said that "there is amazing talent all over the world and having leading creatives from various disciplines take part in the creation of this Annual made it a fun project".
