Singapore - F1 Singapore Grand Prix has given the green light to Fulford Public Relations to handle its PR tasks, and the agency's experience in motorsports gave it the winning lead.
The communications focus is be to boost awareness, drive sales and attendance for the weekend in 2008, targeting Singapore and other regional markets such as Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Thailand Hong Kong Dubai and Bahrain.
The race-circuit will run through city streets in the Marina Bay area. If the proposal gets clearance, it would be the first-ever night race with lights simulating daylight conditions.
Jonathan Hallett, media and communications director of Singapore GP said, "Fulford PR was the obvious choice with its background in motorsports PR especially in F1 as well as its credentials across corporate and consumer markets. They are also well placed to assist us in the region given their network of contacts."
Managing director of Fulford PR, Linda Fulford was elated following the win stating that winning the account was "a dream come true" which marks a historic occasion for the agency just as the Grand Prix would be a milestone for Singapore.
Marketing understands the media and creative agency appointments for Singapore GP are close to being announced.
The high profile event would take place on 28 September next year.
