Hong Kong - The Hong Kong advertising sector registered a year-on-year increase of 9% throughout July to HK$4.38 billion, with Smartone-Vodafone's HK$38 million spend adding to the strong growth.
New data from Nielsen Media's 2007 July Hong Kong Advertising Information Services (AIS), shows among all media, the biggest growth came from the radio sector, which registered 29% increase to HK$2.26 billion.
Throughout the month HSBC was the biggest spending client, upping its spend 61% to HK$52.6 million.
But Smartone-Vodafone 287% increase in ad spend to HK$37.8 million buoyed the result.
Smartone-Vodafone launched advertising campaign with the theme "True Internet, True Value" to promote its online mobile service and invested in cinema ads over the past four weeks.
