Singapore - Visa International's Olympic marketing campaign in Singapore features international movie star Jackie Chan and screens in cinemas and various terrestrial free-to-air channels.
Its country manager for Singapore Meranda Chan said, "Visa has been associated with the Olympics since 1986 and the Games itself is becoming an increasingly popular event with Singaporeans as we see for Singapore athletes establish themselves in the global sporting arena. We hope our close association with the Games and local promotional activities will excite the country as we get closer to the main events and strengthen Visa's brand preference in Singapore."
It will run a series of Olympic-themed promotions locally and work with Visa member banks to help organisations benefit from being the exclusive payment card and service for the games. Other fringe activities include card usage promotions linked with prizes to win packages to Beijing, starting late 2007.
Other than Singapore, the action-centric commercial currently airs in Australia, Thailand, Taiwan and China. It depicts Jackie Chan ever-eager in his classic comic-style caught up in situations and eventually finding an easier solution to the Olympics with his Visa card. The ad is created by Visa and BBDO Australia.
