MediaCorp Publishing stands out in Malaysia
The awards show, which was held at the Asia Pacific Publishing Convention in Malaysia, recognised MediaCorp Publishing's customised title produced for StarHub Cable Vision as the winner in the Design and Layout category, while also handing Excellence Awardees accolades to the company for its Arena Singapore and Style: Weddings Malaysia titles.
"We are certainly grateful for the recognition we have received and today's super-demanding and competitive publishing environment demands that besides offering superb editorial product, marketing and PR efforts have to be much more integrated and outstanding in order for a magazine to stand out from the crowd," Joanne Buxton-Leow, VP of marketing for MediaCorp Publishing said.
Other Singapore mentions came when Reed Business Information Asia picked up two Excellence Awardees in the Best new launch of a local title, and Magazine franchise categories for the launch of Electronics Asia and Control Engineering Asia respectively. SPH managed to win an Excellence Awardees accolade in the Design and Layout category as well.
The Asian Publishing Management Awards aims to recognise the best publishing practices in Asia, and offered 18 awards for categories such as Editorial, Circulation, Design and Layout, Advertising Sales Campaign, Magazine Franchise, Best new launch of a local title, Best use of multimedia by an advertiser, and Innovative corporate communications in a multimedia world. Taiwan's Commonwealth Publishing World won three out of those six categories mentioned.
