Roshambo to publish Stuff

Singapore - Start-up Publishing company Roshambo Media has earned the nod from Haymarket Media Group to acquire the licence to publish Stuff in Singapore - as reported in last Friday's bulletin, No change for Juice and Stuff, for now, Catcha Media Group used to hold the licence.

The title is the first for Roshambo Media, which launched this month.

"Stuff is a well respected publication and a recognised brand both in Singapore and around the world. We are excited at the opportunity of taking the publication to the next level," Glen Myles, CEO of Roshambo Media said. Myles is also the MD of MediaConnect Asia - he said the two companies have distinctly different brand identities and would pose no conflict of interest as while MediaConnect does provide some editorial content, its focus is primarily to deliver services as a resource centre for PR, technology and marketing people with the portal providing PR contacts, data and media monitoring services.

"Roshambo has plans mapped out for the continued growth of the Stuff brand and magazine - in today's IT and consumer electronic-driven world, we believe the readership potential for Stuff can grow exponentially with the right editorial content - especially in Singapore's tech-savvy environment," Myles said.

On his plans to send the magazine for auditing, Myles said it would "definitely be something that we'll take a look at in the future" but that "at this stage we're just taking over so we'll be evaluating what we need to do as far as that goes".

"Stuff Singapore is now in an even stronger position to maintain its status in Singapore - Roshambo have some impressive plans for the title which will excite readers and advertisers alike", Edward Marr, licensing manager for Haymarket Media in Asia said.

The first edition of Stuff under Roshambo will push out in October; till then Myles said "it is business as usual" - Catcha will continue publishing the mag up to the September issue and work closely on the transition with Roshambo.

With the launch of the new mag, Myles has appointed Chris Johnson as sales director where he will help re-launch Stuff to advertisers and oversee the development of the publication's sales team.
