Indonesia - OCBC Bank Indonesia is in the midst of conducting a creative pitch with agencies there.
The bank does not have an agency handling its creative business and the current pitch process may be a signal of the bank's push towards a more aggressive marketing strategy in Indonesia. While OCBC Bank Indonesia has a subsidiary called Bank NISP, for which Y&R Indonesia handles the creative business, it is understood the bank is keen on a different agency to differentiate both businesses. In Singapore, Y&R also handles OCBC Bank's creative business.
"Indonesia is one of OCBC Bank's key overseas markets and we are looking to appoint an agency to support us in our business there. We have met with several agencies and hope to make a selection by end August 2007," Koh Ching Ching, head, group corporate communications, OCBC Bank said.
Koh declined to reveal more details pending a future official announcement from the bank.
