STB receives 10 PR proposals

Singapore - A total of 10 agencies have submitted their applications in a bid clinch the Singapore Tourism Board's (STB) PR account, which was placed up for pitch in mid-June - the tender closed yesterday.

Incumbent agency Burson-Marsteller Singapore (B-M) is keen for another go at the business - other contenders include Carma International Asia Pacfic, EastWest Public Relations, Fulford Public Relations Consultancy, Fleishman-Hillard, Hill & Knowlton SE Asia, Insightmatrix, LexisNexis, MediaBanc (JB) and Upstream Asia Singapore.

The brief calls for strategic PR counsel and tactical PR support for STB, which includes developing an annual PR strategy and workplan to support the Board's overall business objectives and those of its business units, and providing advice and counsel on managing potential crisis communication issues.

As reported earlier this month (STB calls PR pitch), B-M's contract with STB expires at the end of August.

Separately, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has also placed its PR account up for pitch - B-M, Baldwin Boyle Shand and Edelman Public Relations Worldwide are the agencies which have placed their names down for CAAS' consideration. The brief calls for an effective communications strategy plan for CAAS/Changi Airport to promote the airport as a major aviation and airline-friendly hub, as well as to raise awareness of the airport's branding to passengers.
