Singapore - AGM Marketing for Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore (APBS), Erik van Vulpen has parted ways with the organisation following restructuring to its marketing and sales departments.

A statement from APBS read "With effect from 1 August 2007, APBS will take on a more cohesive approach to the functional management of sales and marketing. With an integrated Commercial department, the company aims to achieve more focused, efficient and effective sales and marketing of our beer brands in the Singapore market".

GM of commercial for APBS, Daniel Teo will head the Commercial department reporting to GM for APBS, Bennet Neo. Neo replaced then GM, Alan Gourdie in April - Gourdie was responsible for hiring Vulpen.

"APB has been very generous and transparent, we talked a lot about alternatives. With the new wind that is blowing I am sure Tiger and APBS are on the right track. I will be working as independent marketing consultant before taking on new responsibilities," Vulpen said.

Just two weeks ago, Tiger Beer and its appointed PR agency, Foreword Communications ended its partnership, as reported by Marketing and earlier in the year, the brand also parted company with BBH, just one month after appointing the agency to handle local work. Regionally Tiger Beer is handled by Saatchi & Saatchi Malaysia and although APBS would not comment on whether Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore would officially step in as its local agency - it is widely believed the agency will get the business.
