Hong Kong - Next Media Interactive, which runs the Chinese-language Atnext.com newspaper portal, has introduced seven features aptly coined "seven wholly virtues" at last evening's seventh anniversary event.
The celebration was graced by the director of Next Media Jimmy Lai who made a brief appearance highlighting the importance of the electronic newspaper saying that "our future hinges on the online business".
"We believe online newspaper shouldn't be just a clone from the printed version. It makes sense to take full advantage of the unique attributes of the internet which allows to have richmedia content and more interaction with the users," Sam Hui, business director for Next Media Interactive said.
The new features include a streamlined layout with a new navigation platform that is less cluttered and more user-friendly as well as a new section dedicated to lifestyle-related topics.
A vertical site named appleactionews.com will feature photographs and illustrations while three new studios will be set up in Central and Tseung Kwan O to invest on producing live programmes online that involve audience's real time participation via interactive video technologies.
The group has also enhanced its ad serving system, netDrive 4.06 which provides online advertising solutions such as behavioural targeting, localised rich media solutions and in-depth ROI analysis.
Additionally, Atnext's Apple Daily newspaper website recently reverted to an open subscriptions model aimed at extending its reach globally.
