Asia Pacific - Publicis has announced the internal promotion of Matthew Godfrey to the role of CEO of its Asian operations - Godfrey assumes his new position on 1 August and succeeds regional chairman Guillaume Lévy-Lambert who takes on the role of non-executive chairman.

Lévy-Lambert was responsible for the formation of the company's network in Asia Pacific and held his post for a decade - he will continue to advise the organisation on Asian issues in his new role.

The agency has also expanded Calvin Soh's role to include the additional position of vice chairman - Soh is the agency's chief creative officer Asia while Godfrey, who joined Publicis in 2006 from BatesAsia, is currently chief operating officer.

"By promoting both Matt and Calvin I want to send a strong signal both of our intent to be in the premier league in Asia as well as our determination to become known for our creative quality," Richard Pinder, COO Publicis Worldwide said.

"Since Guillaume joined Publicis in 1997 he has built the company's presence in Asia - with this regional network now in place, we are confident that the team led by Matthew Godfrey and Calvin Soh has all the skills to build further our reputation and client base in this highly strategic part of the world," Maurice Lévy, chairman and CEO of Publicis Groupe SA said.
