3Com names country manager

Singapore - 3Com Corporation has promoted Gene Ng to the position of country manager for 3Com South Asia - a position formed from the completion of the overall integration of 3Com and H3C Technologies sales and marketing teams on 11 July.

The position is based in Singapore with a regional scope of work and Ng will be responsible for all sales, customer and partner programs, and day-to-day operations in Singapore, and reports directly to VP and GM of Asia Pacific for 3Com Corporation, Peter Chai.

"By integrating all of 3Com and H3C personnel in South Asia and in other countries around the region, 3Com has created one unified company and with Gene at the helm of the 3Com South Asia team, we now have the leadership in place that will help us win in both the large enterprise and SMB markets in South Asia," Chai said in a statement.

Ng was appointed as the regional sales director of 3Com South Asia in February 2007 leading the sales teams in Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Pakistan. The news of his promotions follows closely after the company's decision to appoint Hill & Knowlton as its regional PR agency in early July, as reported by Marketing.
