Singapore - BBC World has appointed ex-CNN marketer Bipasha Ghosh as new Senior Marketing Manager and ex-MTV marcoms executive Elaine Ang as Marketing Executive to drive its marketing strategy in East Asia.
"Bipasha has considerable experience working in the news channels and an in-depth knowledge of the region, and Elaine has valuable experience in the regional broadcast industry," said London-based Seema Kotecha, Head of Marketing at BBC World, whom Ghosh reports to. "They will be great assets as we continue to grow our international operations."
Ghosh replaces Rajat Mittra, who worked with the channel for five years and has relocated to Kuala Lumpur, while Ang's position was newly created to support the growth of BBC World's audiences.
Prior to this, Ghosh worked for ten years in international marketing across Asia-Pacific, with five of those spent at CNN. Ang worked at MTV Asia for over four years on sponsorship as well as trade and consumer marketing. Both are Singapore-based and will work with media agency Mediaedge:CIA.
