Singapore - Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) and global news agency Agence France Presse (AFP) have partnered globally to market SPH news pictures through the web-based AFP Imageforum service.
Exclusive SPH images - illustrating Singapore's history, major Asian regional events and selected daily pictures from SPH's The Straits Times will be featured on AFP Imageforum. Pictures from other SPH newspapers are to be introduced into the service in stages.
"This partnership will allow the international media to access and purchase our pictures for their use. Our objective is to reach out to a wider base of customers via AFP and at the same time, provide better customer service," Raymond Teoh, head of internet business unit, SPH said.
The partnership is aimed at enhancing AFP Imageforum as a ‘one-stop' shop for news and stock images, which already have more than 12 international providers such as Getty Images, Eyepress News. AFP will be responsible for handling international marketing, sales, subscription contracts and collection of retainer fees and royalties on behalf of SPH.
