Nippon Paint helps with advice for luck

Singapore - Nippon Paint has launched its latest range of in-store collateral -- tagged Colours of Fortune 2005 -- in line with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations. Leo Burnett and Asian fengshui expert, Master Phang Song Hua, worked on creative.

"The Lunar New Year is a time when many Chinese families spring clean and repaint their homes to symbolise the washing out of the old and welcoming of the new," said Sin Wei Cheah, Group Account Director, Leo Burnett Singapore. "Our latest initiative was designed to assist painters in choosing suitable colours that will help boost their luck this year."

The colour charts featured 12 Nippon Paint colours from its 3-in-1 Medifresh and EasyWash collections, which were selected by Master Phang to help consumers choose the appropriate colour to complement their lifestyles according to their horoscopes. This stems from a traditional Chinese believe that each lunar year is represented by different animals and holds a different fortune for each person -- it is also believed that aided by fengshui principles, choosing the ‘right' paint colour may enhance fortunes for the year ahead.

The colour cards are available in auspicious red packets which are commonly used during the Lunar New Year for gifts of money which symbolise good luck for the receiver. A scratch and win promotion has also been developed by Leo Burnett to complement this initiative.
