Tiger Airways ranked top online

Singapore - Budget airline Tiger Airways has overtaken Air Asia by over 10 percentage points to achieve top ranking in Singapore for visits to Low Cost Carrier (LCC) websites, according to online measurement company Hitwise.
"We launched our website for bookings end-August 2004 and we are excited at hitting this important milestone within five months of operations," said Tony Davis, CEO of Tiger Airways in a statement. "We have managed to gain a larger market share of web traffic than Jetstar and ValuAir combined."
According to Tiger Airways, web traffic is an integral aspect of a LCC business model, akin to physical traffic in retail stores -- up to 95% of LCC sales are generated by direct sales through a website.
