Creative tops Malaysian brand survey category

Malaysia - Singapore-based Creative Technology achieved 72% out of 3153 votes -- the highest percentage achieved overall -- in the Sound Card category of a recent survey by Hardware Zone's HWM Malaysia aimed at gauging the level of awareness of tech brands across the country.

"The results will provide marketers with a ‘man in the street' perspective of various brands, provideing feedback on how successful a particular advertising or branding exercise has been in terms of demographics," said Simon Ling, Marketing Director, HWM Malaysia.

International brands such as hp, Nokia, Canon and Samsung were shown to have further established their positions in their respective product categories, picking-up an even larger share of the poll compared to the year before. For example, Canon achieved nearly 50% share of awareness in the Inkjet Printer category, with hp edging out Epson for second place by less than 1%.

Taiwanese brands such as ASUS, MSI, Shuttle and CoolerMaster also achieved commendable results, marking their dominance in categories such as graphics cards, motherboards, and PC casings.
