The Contender Asia offers sponsors a knock-out opportunity
Singapore - Imagine OmniMedia and Mark Burnett productions are jointly producing the international reality TV series, ‘The Contender Asia', and are currently seeking sponsors for it.
Local media and mobile ventures company Imagine OmniMedia's partnership with Mark Burnett Productions is part of Singapore's efforts to promote the media industry as one of the new growth engines of the local economy. ‘The Contender Asia' is supported by the Media Development Authority (MDA) with DBS Bank Singapore providing a loan to Imagine OmniMedia to cover production costs.
"This is the first ever international reality TV show to be shot and produced in Singapore. Furthermore, the participation of Singapore's DBS Bank in financing this project signifies the value proposition that financial institutions are backing made-by-Singapore media content," Christopher Chia, CEO of MDA said.
"This is a significant milestone for Singapore's efforts in promoting the media industry as one of the new growth engines of the economy, and will provide a great boost to Singapore's image in the international arena," Edwin Khoo, head and managing director, Enterprise Banking of DBS Bank said.
The 15-episode programme is slated for broadcast on AXN for Asian markets in October.
