Singapore - B2B IT brand, 3Com has appointed Hill & Knowlton as its regional PR agency following a pitch - incumbent Porter Novelli has been dropped.

H&K will now handle the company's regional coordination in partnership with its regional headquarters in Singapore - Porter Novelli was invited to pitch. The news is effective immediately and was a result of the company's recent integration with H3C.

"With the integration of H3C into 3Com, we had to consolidate budgets and PR agencies, among other things. With 3Com and H3C now represented by one team and one company, it makes sense for us not to have separate agencies anymore. We chose H&K as the lead agency based on their ability to meet 3Com's budget and deliverables, their strong technology team, and in-depth knowledge of the B2B technology landscape," Maimon Abdul Rahman, PR Manager of Asia Pacific for 3Com said.

Hill & Knowlton will handle 3Com in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Asia Pacific while Red Agency, Mutual PR, Andie Consulting and J-Link handles 3Com in Australia, India, Korea and Taiwan respectively. 3Com APAC does not cover Hong Kong, China and Japan.
