Singapore – 7-Eleven has unveiled the top 18 brands that customers pick from its stores, based on the brands that achieved the highest sales figures in their respective categories during a four-week period that stretched from October 19 to November 15. The retailer also held a 7-Eleven Leading Brand award presentation on December 12 aimed at cementing its partnerships with the 18 brands.“We also hope this award will encourage emerging brands and new suppliers to the convenience retail market to view us as their preferred partner in expanding their distribution,” said Benjamin Eng, CEO of 7-Eleven, adding that being recognised as a leading brand in 7-Eleven was synonymous to being “the leading brand in the convenience store sector”. 7-Eleven operates over 300 stores in Singapore.Eng said there was a high level of consumer participation, with customers standing to win a Motorola RORK E1 mobile phone should the brand the customer voted for emerge the leading one in its category. Consumers were also able to actively support their favourite brand by purchasing its products, thereby pushing sales -- and the brand’s ranking -- up.The awards were timed to coincide with 7-Eleven’s expanding network, with Eng saying that the convenience store’s marketing strategy would include further expansion, improvement of the product mix, development of innovative proprietary brands and the formation of strategic partnerships with existing and new suppliers.7-Eleven Leading Brand Awards 2005CategoryLeading BrandLocal BeerTigerImported BeerCarlsbergAlcopopBacardi BreezerBeveragesNescafeCarbonated DrinksCoca-ColaNon-Carbonated DrinksPolar FruteeIsotonic DrinksH-Two-O7-Eleven Proprietary BrandsSlurpeeCandyLakerolChocolatesFerrero RocherDairy/JuiceDaisyIce-CreamWall’sSnacksLaysBiscuitsOreoBakerySunshineOral CareOral – BWaterEvianTelecommunicationsStarHub
