Singapore - The STAR Group was the biggest winner at the Promax & BDA Asia conference 2005 -- held November 29 at The Art House -- with five Gold and two Silver awards. Two Golds and one Silver were picked up by STAR India, while one Gold was won by STAR Taiwan. MediaCorp TV also picked up three Golds and seven Silvers, making it the broadcaster which won the most awards that night. “Winning it on the Asian front is especially exciting because Asia is really the place where the true talents of the future are emerging -- it is also very meaningful for MediaCorp TV’s Chinese Broadcast Division because it is not just a single Mandarin channel victory, but two previously rival stations winning as a combined entity,” said Paul Chan, Channel VP, Network Programming & Promotions (Chinese Broadcast), MediaCorp TV on the winning of two Golds for Channel U and four Silvers for Channel 8.  The Channel U wins were for ‘Local Variety Promo’ under the ‘Best Entertainment/Variety Promo’ category and ‘Project Superstar Recruitment Campaign’ under the ‘Best Entertainment/Variety Campaign’ category, the Channel 8 wins were for ‘Scholar of Scholars’ under the abovementioned two categories as well as for ‘Channel 8’s Mother’s Day’ under ‘Best Special Event Promo’ and ‘Over the Rainbow’ for the ‘Best Out-of-house Station Image Promo’ category. The Promax & BDA Asia Awards recognise the top marketing and promotional campaigns in the Asian electronic media industry and seek to promote best practices in the world of marketing and promotion in the electronic media.  AWARDS TALLY Broadcaster                                         Gold     SilverSTAR Group                                          5          2                      Channel V- Promo                                  5          1MBC Creative Services                           4          4          SPE Networks – Asia                             4                      MediaCorp TV                                        3          7                      MTV Networks                                       3          6          Discovery Asia                                       3          2          Nickelodeon Asia Holdings                     3          1National Geographic Channel Asia           2          1Television Broadcasts Limited                 2Walt Disney Television                           1          3Turner Entertainment Networks Asia        1          2StarHub                                                1          1Max – SET India                                    1          PT.
