Singapore - BBC World has appointed Terri Seow as its new head of marketing for Asia Pacific - Seow fills the vacancy left behind by Bipasha Ghosh who exited the broadcaster in April, as first reported in Marketing (Ghosh to leave BBC World).
Seow is responsible for both B2B and B2C marketing activity across East Asia, Australia and Japan and oversees the management of marketing teams in Singapore, Tokyo and Sydney. This includes managing the BBC World brand across these regions as well as the creation and execution of regional on and off air campaigns. She is based in Singapore and reports to Annabel Cameron, the channel's London-based global head of marketing.
"Terri's marketing experience in the broadcast industry will be invaluable in building on the marketing campaigns we've rolled out across the region over the last two years, and her in-depth knowledge of the region will be a great asset as we continue to grow the BBC World operation internationally," Cameron said.
Before she joined the channel, Seow was VP of marketing at National Geographic Channels (NGC) in Hong Kong where she headed the regional marketing team and oversaw channel launches across the region; Zubin Gandevia, MD at National Geographic Channel Asia told
Marketing the channel has yet to fill Seow's ex-role but is currently in the midst of looking for a replacement. Seow also has agency experience having held the position of regional brand director at Saatchi & Saatchi before her stint at NGC.
