Singapore - Pernod Ricard has handed its corporate PR business to Strategic Public Relations - the agency assumes its duties in July.
The one-year retainer will see Strategic working with the company on its social responsibility projects.
According to Raymond Koh, marketing director of Pernod Ricard, the account was awarded to Strategic without a pitch as part of a routine company procedure; the company previously worked with Asia PR Werkz until early this year.
Koh said Strategic will be tasked with corporate projects such as anti-drink driving programmes; individual Pernod Ricard brands will continue to oversee their own PR duties.
"Naturally, we're very happy to have been appointed by Pernod Ricard. They are one of the world's large wine and spirits company, and for our agency, this is a big win. Safe to say, I think they liked the ideas we proposed to them," Edwin Yeo, GM, Strategic Public Relations.
Meanwhile, in a competitive pitch, the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) has awarded Asia PR Werkz the PR account for the SSC's third annual WaterFest Singapore 2007 - the agency is responsible for all PR matters pertaining to the event. The water sports festival includes competitive and lifestyle events and launches end August.
