Singapore - Nokia has signed up as presenting sponsor of this year’s JDI-organised Starlight Cinema outdoor cinema festival, previously sponsored by Stella Artois for two years and held at Fort Canning Green. This year’s event, to be held at the Padang from September 15 to 24, will also boast a four-storey high inflatable outdoor movie screen -- the largest in Asia.“The outdoor cinema experience brings families and friends closer together, and this is what our business is all about,” said Kitty Fong, General Manager at Nokia Singapore in a statement. “As the movie line-up for this year’s Starlight Cinema will also offer something for everyone, we anticipate lots of Singaporeans to pack their picnics and blankets and join us.” Patrick Grove, CEO of Catcha Media Group -- JDI’s parent company -- added that he was “excited” as it would be “the first time an outdoor cinema festival has ever been allowed at the historical site.” The turnout for the festival is expected to be over 20,000 over the 10-day event period, during which a series of PG rated box office hits will be shown.
